Guitar Ensemble is a new course that expands upon the students’ prior knowledge of guitar technique from Guitar I. Guitar Ensemble will focus on new types of techniques not experienced in Guitar 1 (picking, rock/jazz chord variations) as well as focusing on performing notated music in an ensemble setting (2 and/or more parts played at the same time). Each student will perform with this group on campus during the course of the year as well as on our annual trip to Disneyland (TBD).
Guitar parents and students:
Performance Policy:
All performances are worth 50 pts. and are 40% of each student’s grade. There
are only three ways in which a student can be excused from a performance.
1.Family Emergency
2.Illness or Injury (that prevents the student from performing)
3.Religious holiday, ceremony or class.
* Please see the Performance and Events page for concert dates.
**All of these must be excused by a note from a parent or legal guardian. An alternate assignment will be completed by the student in order to make-up the points lost from an excused absence.
Practice Cards and Practice Assignments:
Each student is expected to practice and required to turn in a bi-monthly practice log (also called a "practice card"). Practice assignments are posted on the Google Classroom which automatically emails the students every time an assignment is posted. If you are a parent who would like access to the Google Classroom assignments, please e-mail Mrs. Miyata.
